As such, we have a state-of-the-art OCT scanner that can take detailed images of inside your eye so that you can see what we see. It also enables us to keep a visual record of your eye, which we can review and refer to when you come back to see us again.

What are the benefits of an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan?

Similar to an ultrasound, by looking closely at the retina’s layers, an OCT scan can help detect underlying conditions, including:

• Age-related macular degeneration

• Diabetes

• Glaucoma

• Vitreous detachments

• Macular holes

• Hypertensive Retinopathy
